Behind Bankside - snippets of London's past

One of the most intriguing places in London is Bankside. It is home to a whole variety of secret little spots, nods to history and stories from years past. We're going to be retracing the steps of Shakespeare and bishops, women and workers, and showing you the little details of the area.

You would be surprised to learn just how many ruins of old buildings there are in the area, and how much we can unearth from them. It's an area of locals, trade, development of some of London's biggest institutions, as well as the usual nefarious goings-on! We'll take a look at the impact of the beer industry, another slightly more underworld industry, and take a look at one of the most notorious prisons in London.
