It's very rare that the mercury in London dips low enough to change how London looks, but in recent weeks we had a cold snap that froze London solid.
I took a cycle ride up into the city centre to see it for myself and it didn't disappoint. It was an amazing sight to see - twinkling in the sunlight, it was like a fairytale landscape.
Long fingers of ice clung to the side spouts on the big fountains in Trafalgar Square. It wasn't cold enough to freeze the main towering fountains, so the ice hung in long tentacles from the forms of nymphs and sea creatures which are so often overlooked, but on this day created the main feature of the fountain.
